Fulfillment of Certification Requirements
When you are certified by AT*SQA, you agree to inform AT*SQA, without delay, of matters that can affect your capability to continue to fulfill the certification requirements.
As a condition of taking an exam, you agree to meet the requirements for any prerequisites, including but not limited to prior certifications and/or experience, as well as any other prerequisites required by that certification. You also agree to supply any information needed for the level of certification being sought. Failure to comply with the prerequisites or provide information may invalidate the certification, even if successfully passed, until such time as the prerequisites have been satisfied. See the relevant certification information pages on the AT*SQA website for specific prerequisites, including the certification and experience prerequisites for ISTQB exams.
If a certification requires recertification, the user’s lack of providing the required information to AT*SQA by the required date will be considered notification of the intent to allow the certification to expire, and their certification will expire.
You may receive extended time by attesting (affirming) that English is not your first (native) language and then choosing the extended time exam. Falsely attesting that English is not your first (native) language or choosing the extended time exam when you do not qualify for the time extension may invalidate the certification, even if successfully passed. No refund will be issued in that case.
Suspension or Withdrawl of Certification
If you are found to be in violation of the rules AT*SQA has set in place for exam testing (before, during, or after the exam) or any other rules or conditions in the AT*SQA Code of Ethics, your exam and certification may be suspended or withdrawn (made void) by decision of AT*SQA. Failure to resolve the issues that have resulted in the suspension, in a time established AT*SQA, shall result in withdrawal of the certification. In the event of a suspension of the certification, you shall refrain from further promotion of the certification while it is suspended. In the event of a voiding or withdrawal of the certification, you shall refrain from use of all references to a certified status.
Suspension or Voiding of Exam
If an exam is suspended or voided for any violation, there will be no refunds or retests granted.
Online Exam Submissions
For online proctored exams, should an exam be submitted and graded, no matter the fault of the exam taker or the online proctoring service, AT*SQA does not allow restarting an exam. After an investigation into the causes of the exam submission and if the exam taker is granted a retake, they must take a new exam.
Certificate and Certified Logo Usage Agreement
You agree that you will abide by the ISTQB Certificate and Certified Logo Usage and Communication Guidelines with regard to ISTQB certifications, and the AT*SQA Certified Logo and Communication Guidelines with regard to AT*SQA certifications and micro-credentials. Inappropriate references to the certification or misleading use of any certificates and logos in publications, catalogues, etc. will be addressed with appropriate corrective measures, such as the suspension or withdrawal of any/all certifications, publication of the infraction and, if appropriate, legal action.
Exam Services – Identification and Use of Cameras for Online Exams
By taking any exam through us, you agree to provide AT*SQA with identification upon request, whether before or after your exam, to prove your identity. Failure to provide acceptable identification will result in your disqualification for the exam, and any applicable rescheduling fees will be your responsibility.
By taking an online exam through AT*SQA, you agree to be photographed and recorded (audio and video) during your exam. As a condition of taking an online exam, you agree that where AT*SQA requires, in accordance with ISTQB regulations, your use of one or more cameras while taking an online exam that you will use and position the camera(s) as requested by AT*SQA to ensure the integrity of the exam taking process in accordance with all applicable rules and testing policies. In connection with taking an online exam, you hereby agree and consent to our collection, recording, storage, and use of audio and video from any cameras that we require to take the exam, which will only be stored, used and viewed by AT*SQA and its governing board, ASTQB, to determine whether you have adhered with all applicable rules and testing policies to ensure the integrity of the examination process, including any appeal by you of a disqualification decision.
If you have any questions about the use of any cameras in connection with an online exam, please contact ISTQB.
We may choose to request identification after your exam to prove your identity by comparing the photograph of the person taking the exam to your identification. If you are unable to provide acceptable proof of identity after an exam has been taken, your certification will be invalidated, and there will be no refund of any fees or costs that you have incurred.
Confidentiality Requirements and Agreement
When you take an exam from AT*SQA through any of its agents or systems, you agree that you will not release confidential examination materials or participate in fraudulent test-taking practices.
Code of Ethics Requirements and Agreement
As a condition of being certified by AT*SQA you further agree to follow the AT*SQA Code of Ethics as an ongoing requirement of your certification.
Release of Exam Results
AT*SQA will provide the score (pass or fail and percent correct) to an exam taker at the conclusion of the exam. This will be done through an official email notification from the system. The results are sent only to the test taker. The exam scores by topic are available for some exams in the exam taker's AT*SQA account. Neither AT*SQA nor ASTQB is able to disclose any further information about the exam or their results unless authorized by you, the exam taker, to do so. AT*SQA and ASTQB consider the certification to be specific to an individual, so by default, they do not honor requests from supervisors or companies, but instead, let them know they must contact the exam taker to request the results. This is true regardless of who paid for the exam. An exam taker may provide permission for AT*SQA and ASTQB to share pass/fail information with others by updating their preferences in the exam taker's AT*SQA account or by providing written permission to AT*SQA via email.
